2008 Public Art Display Announced
The 2008 Public Art Display,"Boats-n-Beaches!" has been announced. The display will feature interactive sailboats, tugboats, speedboats, and canoes. From Memorial Day weekend thru October 1st, 2008, the 30 boats will be displayed in various locations throughout the downtown core!. Make your vacation plans now for next summer!

The Detroit Newswas inundated with nearly 1500 photos showing Michigan "in all it's glory" for their "Celebrate Michigan" photo contest. Detroit Free Press Columnist Susan Ager made a list of the best places to visit in Michigan; on her list was St. Joseph, where breathtaking sunsets and sandy beaches mark it the "Most Romantic City in Michigan."
Ager made her visit to St. Joseph earlier this summer and liked what she saw. The article says the "beautiful beaches and sunsets over Lake Michigan are a draw for honeymooners, vacationers, and those who want to get back to nature."
The Fine Living Channel voted St. Joseph as one of the top ten Perfect Summer Getaways" referring to St. Joseph as "The Riviera of the Midwest."Silver Beach was also listed as one of the "Top Ten Beaches" by Parent's Magazine and Golf Digest listed our community in their top twenty golfing areas in the United States. St. Joseph continues to maintain the "hidden gem" atmosphere even though it gains national attention for the beauty of all the seasons. Friday May 23rd, 2008 is the date for the annual Memorial Day Parade and ceremony. The Parade will begin at noon with a ceremony and monument walk immediately following the parade.
